The images on our restaurant pages are AI-generated illustrations. They are created to give a sense of each spot’s food and style — they are not photographs of the actual restaurant, its dishes, or its premises.

How they are labeled

Every AI-generated image carries a visible “AI-generated illustration” label on the page, descriptive alt text that identifies it as an illustration, and embedded provenance metadata (the industry-standard “trained algorithmic media” marker). We do not present these images as real photos to search engines.

No affiliation or endorsement

An illustration on a restaurant’s page does not imply that the restaurant provided it, approved it, or is affiliated with The BBQ Atlas. Restaurant names are used for identification only, as part of an independent guide.

Requesting a change or removal

If you own or represent a venue and would like your illustration removed, or replaced with a real photo you provide, email us at [email protected] and we will handle it promptly.
